The Guidance Activity Calendar will list times and dates colleges will be visiting Oak Forest, upcoming Career Speakers, as well as when the Developmental Guidance Lessons will be presented to the students, by the counselors.
Career Information page provides the students with various resources to begin researching careers. Other useful links include: finding careers related to subject areas, the Occupational Outlook Handbook, a vocational school database, CISCO, Illinois Department of Employment Security, and Today’s Military. The students will also find volunteer opportunities on this page.
College Information page has resources to help students find what school is right for them! You can find information regarding the ACT, art and culinary schools, and NCAA requirements. Students are provided with direct links to Illinois 4 and 2- year college websites.
Financial Aid/Scholarship Resources has numerous links to help students find scholarships for college! This link includes Scholarship databases, OFHS Scholarship Newsletter, and FAFSA information, opportunities for undocumented students, as well as other valuable sites.
Parent Resources page includes useful information for parents of both high school and college students. Information on helping your child succeed in school (state learning standards, parent-school relationships and no child left behind), resources for parenting teens (working through exciting and somewhat difficult teenage years), to a site designed to help parents with college students (including FAQ’s and college financial information); there is something here for all parents!
